The Resort's Origin and Background

          Sunrise Tropical Resort was established by three kinsmen: siblings Mr. Rarb  and Mr. Meed Ngafa together with their older brother-in-law Mr. Karmheng Changrua.  During their formation of the resort, all three gentlemen relied on their previous 10 years of experience operating small bamboo bungalows for rent to foreigners wanting to relax near the beach.    Together these three descendants of the original landowners had played as small children in the area of the resort.   Most importantly, they wanted to retain the heritage entrusted by their parents to pass on to future generations—therefore, the three decided to join together in creating the resort.
          Sunrise Tropical Resort was designed to preserve nature.   The old, original trees of diverse variety were kept  to the utmost extent, cutting only trees necessary for the building of the rooms and facilities.  All three owners wanted very much to emphasize nature in the atmosphere of the resort.
          Sunrise Tropical Resort officially opened for guests on October 1st, 2002 subject to the following policies,

1. The resort must evoke an atmosphere of tropical beauty and nature.
2. Focus on establishing and providing five-star hotel service to guests.
3. Stimulate and promote development of quality hotel personnel.
